How do you get a quesadilla to stick together?

If you are worried that your quesadilla will fall apart, you can opt to choose flour tortillas rather than corn tortillas. Flour tortillas are more pliable than corn tortillas and they can hold the cheese and other fillings together well.

Plus, if it’s your first time cooking quesadillas on a skillet, you might want to consider using a single tortilla only. To use this cooking method, place the tortilla on the pan, add fillings only on half of the tortilla, and fold it over making a half moon shape.

Because it’s smaller, it will be easier to flip compared with two whole tortillas sandwiched together. But of course, if you have a quesadilla maker, you can disregard this tip.

Lastly, to make sure that your quesadillas will stick together, press the tortilla together to seal and use a lot of cheese too. Besides, who wouldn’t want a quesadilla oozing with cheese?

Do I grease the pan when cooking quesadillas?

Yes. You can grease the pan when cooking quesadillas with a little oil and butter especially if you’re not using a nonstick pan

However, remember not to grease too much as flour tortillas can absorb a lot of oil. The oil will make the quesadilla crispy while cooking but it will also create moisture later on that will cause your quesadilla to end up soggy.

To make a perfect quesadilla, use only a half teaspoon of butter or oil, just enough to lightly coat your skillet. Plus, take note that tortillas burn easily, so cook your quesadillas on medium heat only.
