You can store leftover turkey in the refrigerator if you will be using it within a few days. If you want to store the turkey for longer you can move it to the freezer.
If you need to keep turkey in the refrigerator be sure to use it in some of these recipes for leftover turkey fairly quickly. I like to use mine up within 4-5 days after cooking or move it to the freezer to avoid spoiling!
Do I have to cook the turkey in these recipes?
Most of these recipes use turkey that is already cooked. If the recipe calls for cooking the turkey you can skip that portion because you are using already cooked turkey.
For recipes like casseroles and pasta where you need to combine the turkey with sauce or other ingredients, don’t worry, it will be fine if you wait to add the turkey until closer to the end of the cooking time. You can make small changes like that to use pre-cooked meats in your recipes!
Having pre-cooked turkey on hand in the freezer or refrigerator is nice because it really cuts down on cooking times for meals. Great to have on hand for busy weeknights!
